Additional Special Council Meeting

Councillor Townsend will present the following motion:

That Council approve a special council meeting for Tuesday, March 30, 2021 commencing at 6 p.m.; and

 

That the special meeting of council be held for the purpose of CAO recruitment; and

 

That the meeting be held electronically; and

 

That the City Clerk be directed to make the necessary notifications.

Remove Schedule 3 from Bill 257

Councillor Townsend will present the following motion:

WHEREAS the City of St. Catharines has declared a climate emergency; and

 

WHEREAS conservation areas and wetlands are an intricate part of our biosphere; and

 

WHEREAS schedule 3 in bill 257 gives the government absolute power to destroy wetlands and conservation areas;

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of St. Catharines call on the Premier of Ontario and the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to remove schedule 3 from bill 257; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of St. Catharines send correspondence of this motion to all Ontario Municipalities, MPPs, Conservation Authorities and AMO
