11.1

(Delegation by Charlene Hall (Regional Director, Distribution, Metroland West) and Kelly Montague (Vice President and Publisher, Metroland West) will precede discussion of motion)

Newspaper and Flyer Delivery

Councillor Siscoe will present the following motion:

WHEREAS citizens have complained loudly about newspapers and flyers being left at the foot of the driveway, and the subsequent mess that is created; and

 

WHEREAS circumstances cannot be entirely avoided where driveway delivery may be a necessity;

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that City staff, in conjunction with Metroland, create a simple online web form on the City's website for residents who do not wish for these newspapers and flyer bundles to be delivered to their address; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a link to this web form be easy to locate on the City's website.

Municipal Representation on Greater Niagara Circle Route Committee

Councillor Littleton will present the following motion:

That Council appoint Councillor ________ to the Greater Niagara Circle Route Committee; and

That the City Clerk be directed to make notifications as required.

Whistleblower Policy

Councillor Porter gave notice at the September 9, 2019 Council Meeting that she will request the following report:

That staff be directed to review the City‘s current Whistleblower Policy and whether there is a need for a bylaw.

 

 

 

 

 

13.2

Labyrinth Project

Councillor Dodge advised the Office of the City Clerk that she will request the following report:

That staff be directed to prepare a report regarding the construction costs, scheduling of the project, legal agreements and the Jaycee Park location for a labyrinth, that follows the Niagara-on-the-Lake model; and

That this report be brought to Council for their consideration as soon as possible.

Task Force - Memorial for Fallen Firefighters

Mayor Sendzik advised the Office of the City Clerk that he will request the following report:

That staff be directed to prepare a report and terms of reference for a Mayor’s Task Force to be formed, whose objective would be to create a memorial for fallen Firefighters in the City of St. Catharines.
