Mayor Sendzik was in the chair and called the meeting to order in Council Chambers
at 6:43 p.m.

4.1.

Planning and Building Services, Planning Services

Application to Remove Holding Provision from Zoning; Address: 6 and 10 Dalhousie Avenue; Applicant: Rockwell Development Corporation/WJS Environmental Consulting Inc.

 

That Council approve an amendment to the City of St. Catharines Zoning By-law 2013-283, for the lands described as Part of Lot 35 Plan 7, St. Catharines, municipally known as 6 and 10 Dalhousie Avenue, as follows:

a) That Section 15.1, Schedule A (A7), Zoning Maps, be amended by rezoning the subject lands from Medium Density Residential Holding (R3 -74-H13) to Medium Density Residential (R3-74); and

b) That Section 14, ‘Holding Provisions’ be amended by deleting Holding Provision H13; and

That the City Solicitor be directed to prepare the necessary by-laws to give effect to Council’s decision; and

Further, that the City Clerk be directed to make the necessary notifications. FORTHWITH

Webstreaming of Tragically Hip Concert, August 20, 2016

(Steve Solski, Executive Director, FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, will provide a verbal update)

Steve Solski, Executive Director of the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre provided a verbal update on the Broadcasting of the CBC & Tragically Hip Presentation of the "Tragically Hip National Celebration” taking place in St. Catharines, on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Mr. Solski explained the CBC's specifications required to Broadcast the Concert.
Details of the Broadcast in St. Catharines are as follows:

Saturday, August 20, 2016
Meridian Centre – screened on the jumbotron in centre ice
Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Broadcast starts at 8:30 p.m.

This is a Free Ticketed event. People interested in attending the showing must have a ticket, which can be attained only at the Meridian Centre box office starting on Tuesday, July 27, 2016.

The Canadian Cancer Society will be on site to accept donations.

NOTE: Maximum of 4 tickets per person allowed

There will be no ‘event parking charge’ at City owned lots on that evening.

That Council receive the verbal update by Steve Solski, Executive Director of the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, on the broadcast of the CBC and Tragically Hip Presentation of the "Tragically Hip National Celebration" to take place at the Meridian Centre, on Saturday, August 20, 2016; and

That staff contact the Canadian Cancer Society to ask if the donations collected on the night of the broadcast be appropriated to patients in the Niagara Region receiving chemotherapy; and

That consideration also be given to patients travelling from Niagara to Hamilton for treatments; and

Further, that these monies assist in patient's parking fees. FORTHWITH
