Niagara District Airport Commission - Notice of Motion, June 8, 2015 by Councillor Britton

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the City of St. Catharines supports dissolving the existing joint municipal service board operating the Niagara District Airport Commission, and to transfer the operations of the airport to the Regional Municipality of Niagara; and

 

THAT if the City of Niagara Falls and the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake pass similar resolutions to the one above, the City Clerk notify the Regional Municipality of Niagara of the passing of these resolutions; and

 

THAT if the Regional Municipality of Niagara approves taking over the operations of the airport, that staff be directed to work with their counterparts in each municipality to bring the appropriate agreements to effect this change. FORTHWITH

Event of Municipal Significance – Niagara Greek Festival

 

That Council of the City of St. Catharines declare the Greek Community of Niagara’s (GCN) Niagara Greek Festival, to be held September
11-13, 2015, to be an event of municipal significance with respect to obtaining liquor permits in accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario requirements; and

 

That the Office of the City Clerk be directed to make the necessary notifications. FORTHWITH
