Parking Survey
Extension of the Two-Hour Parking Time Limit
The City of St. Catharines is in receipt of a request to address concerns with Meridian Centre event parking infiltrating into the residential neighbourhood west of Ontario Street. In order to address potential infiltration, staff are proposing to extend the two-hour time limit on parking to 10:00 p.m. As such, the two-hour time limited parking will change from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. We would note that we are only proposing to extend the two-hour time limit. No changes are being proposed to where parking is currently permitted or prohibited.
Resident only parking is not being considered at this time as it has the potential to be too restrictive to meet the daily needs of property owners. Visitors and customers will not be permitted to park on any street with resident only parking, resulting in public parking for this neighbourhood to begin at Ontario Street. Unlike the resident only system, two-hour time limited parking permits short term parking for all users while discouraging/eliminating long term parking, including event parking.
Staff are requesting that you fill out the form below and forward your response to the City in the self-addressed stamped envelope provided, or by e-mailing, or faxing the form by December 22, 2014 to:
