10.1

Reinstating Crossing Guard Locations and Adding to Complement - Glenridge Area

Councillor Harris to present the following motion:

 

WHEREAS, on August 11, 2014, Council approved a report to remove crossing guards on Glen Morris Drive at Adelene Crescent and Glenridge Avenue at Oakridge Avenue, and that a guard be reallocated to Glenridge Avenue and Glen Morris Drive; and

 

WHEREAS the City Clerk has received concerns from area residents due to children and parents still utilizing these crossings;

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council direct staff to immediately reinstate the crossing guards on Glen Morris Drive at Adelene Crescent and Glenridge Avenue at Oakridge Avenue; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a guard be added to the complement at the crossing on Glendale Avenue at Glenridge Avenue to maintain two guards at this location as per Council’s original direction; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that staff report back to Council on September 22, 2014, to confirm the appropriateness of the relocations. FORTHWITH
